The GeneGnome5 is dedicated to chemiluminescence imaging. This system is built for high performance and automation. A very simple set-up process means a single ‘click’ will automatically capture a quality image of any blot using the integral cooled high resolution CCD camera.
Western blot imaging has never been so easy than with the GeneGnome5. The system automatically selects the right imaging conditions for any blot irrespective of the chemiluminescent reagents being used. All chemiluminescence applications can easily be handled by the GeneGnome5 and can produce superb images even from the faintest of signals.
The compact instrument sits on any laboratory bench taking up very little space. The integral processor means that no external computer is required for capture or analysis.
The system comes complete with unlimited copies of GeneTools analysis software.

For many years, GeneGnome has been one of Syngene's unique and very popular systems. We have sold hundreds worldwide and have a strong customer following for this product. GeneGnome has now been updated to include a much higher resolution camera.
As always, the GeneGnome is a fully automated system with a small footprint and is optimised for highly sensitive imaging of chemiluminescence blots and plates. Built-in epi white LEDs are included so that coloured markers can be imaged. No external PC is required.
The GeneGnome5 now features our super 16 bit 5 million pixel camera which is proving to be such a success with the G:BOX XR5 system. With these 5 million REAL pixels (not digital zooming) you can capture high resolution images or if need be, binned images for extra sensitivity and acquisition speed.
This is the first product within its class for both price and performance to offer 5 million pixels. With this level of resolution the product guarantees superb images of all your chemiluminescent blots and plates. Please remember that the maximum blot size in a GeneGnome is 11 x 8cm. If you have larger blots please look at our G:BOX Chemi XL1.4 system.
The camera is cooled and has very low noise so imaging chemiluminescent samles is easy. Using GeneSys makes capturing any sample a simple, automatic process. It is genuinely a one-button process with capture times automatically calculated. Exposure times of many hours are possible and always result in clean crisp images.
|Printer - Any printer with appropriate Windows drivers can be attached to the GeneGnome. We recommend a thermal A6 printer such as Sony or Mitsubishi. These USB printers will ‘plug and play’ with the GeneGnome and require minimal setup. They will print hard copies of blots in under 5 seconds on long life glossy thermal paper to give photographic quality images.|
“We have been using the GeneGnome since 2003 for imaging Western blots to determine how changes in phospholipase C affect the regulation of proteins during mitosis. During this time we have only had to make one change to the hardware, which Syngene came in and did on-site. When we need to purchase another chemiluminescent imager, we’ll definitely go for another from Syngene because using a GeneGnome and working with Syngene has been an entirely positive experience.”
“In 2004, we began using our GeneGnome to help us determine expression levels of proteins. We chose a GeneGnome because it only performs chemiluminescence imaging, making it simpler to use than other imagers we looked at. Using our GeneGnome we have detected large membrane proteins of 260 KDa and visualised nanogram amounts of protein, so it has plenty of sensitivity for our work.”
“We like the free software upgrades that help to keep our GeneGnome up to date and have been really impressed with the service and support Syngene has given us while we’ve been using the system.”
